Our Core Values

Trust

We believe that the only sustainable basis for a successful client/advisor relationship is perfect mutual trust.  We strive to demonstrate superior trustworthiness in all that we do.  We believe that trustworthiness is comprised of three components:

  • Sincerity – Does one mean what he speaks?
  • Competence – Does one know what he speaks of?
  • Reliability – Does one follow through on his promises?
We strive each day to operated in this "intersection of trust".

We strive each day to operated in this "intersection of trust".

Independence

Would it change your view of your doctor if you knew that all of his formal medical education was provided to him by one large pharmaceutical company?  Unfortunately, much of the financial services industry operates in this manner.  Large investment and insurance companies recruit, train and employ advisors and agents, often with the agenda to promote their proprietary products and services.

At Oaktree Wealth Group, we are an independent fee-only investment advisory firm.  We truly work for our clients and our clients alone.  We have intentionally formed our firm with this structure so that we can be free from any conflicts of interest that might prevent us from doing what is best for our clients.  This means:

  • We have no proprietary products.
  • We have no formal obligations to any other financial services company.
  • We act as fiduciaries, meaning that by law we are required to act in our client's best interests.  Much of the industry operates on the lesser standard of care called "suitability."

Expertise

You work hard for your wealth.  You deserve to work with an advisor who has dedicated himself to the highest standards of learning, education and professionalism.  We require all of our senior advisors to have extensive education and training.  We also require all senior advisors to be Certified Financial Planners.  This ensures that our advisors have a well-rounded body of knowledge of financial planning.  The CFP Board’s certification requirements are centered around the “Four E’s” – Education, Examination, Experience and Ethics.  You can learn more about CFP certification here.

Personal Service

We entered into this profession to serve and help people.  We care deeply about each of our clients and offer them a first class personalized experience.  It begins with us taking the time to learn about our them;  their uniqueness, their hopes and dreams, their resources and opportunities.  We then deepen our client relationships with regular proactive service.

We are able to offer this level of service to our clients by limiting the size of our clientele.  Our goal is not to become the largest firm, but only large enough to offer exceptional service to our clients.
